3 Amazing Marketing Campaign Techniques For The Marketing Ninjas
Each easy to apply tip is wonderfully simple. However, do not let the simplicity take away from the power these tips have that can single handily make you a marketing campaign analysis ninja.
Marketing Campaign - Customer Acquisition with Micro-Conversions
Today we are going to talk about CPA or Cost per Acquisition for our marketing campaign whether they are for; E-mail, Search Engines, Affiliate, etc. A lot of small
e-commerce and online business owners get into the analysis of customer acquisition and stop right there but in order to see real progress you must go one step further than just the session or one visit.
Since most of the time we calculate a CPA with only one successful result we miss out on the numerous other conversion that took place. For example, at an e-commerce site the major purpose is to make a sale. However what if the prospect signed up to receive a coupon, get on your email list, signed up for a price alert, or contacted customer service isn’t that a successful action?
What these prospects did was more of a micro conversion as opposed to the ultimate goal. They took one step in the race but didn’t run through the finish line, YET. So, what was the cost per acquisition of your price alert sign up?
When that e-commerce store send out the next price alert to the customers signed up for that service what do you think will happen, sales right? How does that effect the CPA of our original marketing campaign? It would bring down the cost of acquiring a customer wouldn’t it?
Take-Aways:
- Be careful to only define one action as the winner?
- It is important to have a system that can track the micro conversions as well as the big kahuna.
- It is important to be able to find out where your micro conversion came from. For example, where do we get the customers that sign up for price alerts?
In the next post we will talk about how to break these down further on a spreadsheet, but in the meantime come up some of the mini conversions on your site?
Some mini conversions on your website might be:
- Sign up for newsletter or coupons.
- Sign up for your price alert campaigns.
- Email customer service with a question.
